Our human society are extremely fortunate to have a television screen. Television is such a powerful tool that we use to educate ourselves daily with news programs in our communities. We can access digital channels such as ESPN, History Channel, Discovery Channel, and premium channels such as HBO and Cinemax to watch movies in high definition.
Television is a powerful communication device where information can be distributed in an efficient and cheap method to billions of people around the world. Television was invented by several individuals in the late 19th and early 20th century. Color television in 1954 was revolutionary for the United States because people were able to see live footage of events in color in the comfort of their own homes. Before television, news was distributed by newspaper, which was great, but information was slower and more biased depending on the newspaper that you read. The first color broadcast for television was the Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena, CA.
Now smart television in the 21st century is a "hybrid television" that has Internet and Web 2.0 features that provides internet TV, online interactive media, and on demand streaming media. All people are able to also access internet programs such as Amazon Prime, and Netflix. Netflix offers over 1,197 TV shows and 4,335 movies as of March 2016. We are fortunate to have television in our lives.
It is a man-made machine that has increased information to come to the consumer at a faster rate, allows us to see the news on a visual screen, and is an entertainment device. Here is a video of a Samsung Smart TV from Youtube.
